Maurice James

Maurice James, founder of Mojo Pictures, is a graduate of Columbia
University. While in New York he was deeply involved in the
independent production world. He also worked as a casting associate
at Elissa Myers Casting specializing in Broadway, Off-Broadway, and
A-list regional theater. In 2003 Maurice relocated to Los Angeles, CA
to attend the University of Southern California's Peter Stark Producing
Program at the School of Cinematic Arts. While at USC, Maurice
received several scholarships and awards including the Robert S.
Ferguson Award for his thesis project--a Brazilian music documentary
entitled
Tropicália that is currently in development at Mojo Pictures.

While in Los Angeles, Maurice has worked in Fox Searchlight Studio's
creative development department during the production of films like
Napoleon Dynamite and Garden State. Maurice has produced TV
episodes for
Showtime at the Apollo for NBC and has written and
produced for award shows like the
Black Movie Awards for TNT. He
also production managed
Setup, an unprecedented, branded, reality
amateur car racing competition show for the Speed Channel.
